The keypad is the arrangement of buttons into the lower left hand portion of the Conversion Window.  The keypad provides a way for the user to put number into the Input Box with the mouse instead of the keyboard.  Simply click on a button to insert that character into the Input Box.  If you click on the 'C' button (or Clear button), you will remove the contents of the Input Box.
